Latest Update

we have another date confirm in the dairy now. Its the N Gauge Madness show near Derby on weekend of 27/28th April 2012. Details can be found here? we will be offering Dale Yard,  Gillsburgh MPD & Gillsburgh Brewery.

Also we have been working on some new modules, Clinch River, Rifle River, Gillsburgh Brewery & Rawlings.

Next years calendar…

So it’s that time of year when we start planning what’s happenning next year, and whilst we’re still awful at updating these sites there has been lots going on.

More modules are under construction, both from within our group and by other folk, the crew from the Western Union NMRA group are also working on some modules, hopefully to debut at Exeter next year.

So what does the year have in store?

March 3rd sees our first ever modular meet, which will take place in Exeter – this will have a practical role in testing any new modules for the Exeter show in June, but will also be a good venue if anyone wants to come and chat about the concepts and work involved. If you’re working on a module we may also be able to include you – let us know!

June sees two shows in close succession involving the modules, on the 16th we are trekking up to the Midlands for TVNAM, (Trent Valley North American Modellers) with several modules.

The following weekend (23rd and 24th) we’re back at Exeter – with the 2011 show having been a success this year we plan to build on that, we should have even more modules involved, and we’re looking at having a couple of branches connecting back to RS Tower. The unique mix of frequent long trains past RS Tower and an ‘operations focussed’ network of lines operating specifically to move goods to the industries there is a rare combination in a UK model railway exhibition, you won’t see this kind of thing happenning too often due to logistics and personnel issues, so if you’re interested definately one for the diary!

And lastly for the moment (although there are other possibles) we will be travelling to Peterborough on the 20th/21st October with modules forming a branchline on RS Tower.

Look forward to seeing you in the new year!

Exeter Model Railway Show 2010

We’ve just had a successful weekend at the Exeter Model Railway Show.

It was the 1st outing for some for the new modules even though they were not finished yet.

See the video for layout setup.

Also some photo’s can be seen here.

Next up we’ll be at the Shaftesbury & Gillingham Show on 26th June.

Hope to see you there?

Next up – Exe Model Railway Show

On the 5th/6th June our Freemo modules will be in operation at the Exe MRS show at Exeter, see their website at http://www.exemrs.co.uk/ for more details.

We’re debuting several new modules this year including Gillsburgh by Ian Smith as well as established modules such as Neil Rogers’ Oakdale, they will form a 60′ long end-to-end run between a pair of small yards, frequent local passenger and freight moves should feature.

We’re a little bit short of staff this year so RS Tower and it’s big trains are not featuring as part of our display, but we’re planning lots of operation so it’s still well coming for a look and a chat about modules, DCC, operations or any of the other things we get up to.

And if anyone wants to come for a play let us know! :-)

We’re working on a major showing with both RS Tower and a substantial Freemo presence combined for the 2011 Exeter show, it will be worth making a note in your diaries as we’ll be creating something that will be able to absorb lots of operators!
